Our Mission
Psychiatry that sees
the whole person
At Open Door Psychiatry, we believe mental health care should feel accessible, respectful, and deeply human. We are a women-of-color–led practice serving individuals across New York State — including Long Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and New York City — entirely through secure virtual appointments.
Our team of psychiatrists and licensed social workers brings together medical expertise and therapeutic care in one place. We take a whole-person approach — considering your history, culture, identity, and lived experience — because good care cannot be one-size-fits-all.
Every appointment is unhurried. Every question is welcome. Every door is open.
Evidence-Based Care
Every treatment plan is grounded in current clinical research and tailored to your unique needs — never formulaic, never rushed.
Genuine Compassion
Trust is the foundation of everything we do. We earn it from your very first visit through listening, not assumptions.
Accessible & Flexible
Same-week virtual appointments across New York State — psychiatric care that fits your life, not the other way around.

Our practice was built by women, for everyone. We bring intersectional awareness, lived experience, and an unwavering commitment to inclusive, affirming care for all who walk through our door. Proudly serving Long Island, New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and all of New York State.
