All medication management visits are conducted via secure HIPAA-compliant video — available to adults across New York State including Long Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and New York City.

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation
Before any medication is prescribed, you'll complete a full psychiatric evaluation. This gives your provider a complete picture of your history, symptoms, and goals — ensuring any medication recommended is the right fit for you specifically.

Your evaluation session
If medication is appropriate for your care plan, your provider will discuss all options with you — including how each works, potential side effects, and what to expect in the first few weeks. You are always part of the decision.

Regular Follow-Up Visits
Medication management is an ongoing process. You'll have scheduled follow-up appointments to track your progress, address any side effects, and make adjustments as needed. Follow-ups are conducted virtually — from wherever you are in New York State.

Open Door Psychiatry is a private-pay, cash-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. A superbill is provided upon request so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance carrier.
